BARBARA WALTERS REFUSES TO DEBATE STAR JONES
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Barbara Walters prefers to remember the Star Jones who was so nice to her on "The View" rather than the Star Jones who is now attacking her about her autobiography. Jones lashed out at Walters, accusing her of revealing her affair with Senator Edward Brooke just to sell copies of "Audition." But Walters wouldn't get into a debate with Jones. She told AP Radio that Jones is having enough trouble as it is without her piling on. She says Jones "is going through a difficult time now" and she doesn't want to "add to her difficulties." Jones is going through a divorce and is in between jobs. UMA THURMAN SUES LANCOME
NEW YORK (AP) -- Uma Thurman is responding to Lancome's lawsuit against her by filing one of her own. Lancome claims the contract specifies that the company was not responsible if third parties used her name and face after the agreement was up. Lancome's lawyer says its lawsuit will take priority in court because it was filed first.

"THE FALL" - LEE PACE
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Lee Pace says the best way to scare audiences away is to tell them how good something is. So he's not saying too much about his new movie "The Fall," which opened Friday. He says "if you're told, 'there's an important movie coming out,' people would rather chew glass than go see it." Pace says the same thing happened with his TV show "Pushing Daisies." He told AP Television last month that there's this "very special TV show" that people should see. And it has struggled to gain a large audience.
